Fire at Luxury Hotel in Manila
Associated Press
MANILA —
Fire swept through a luxury hotel in the capital today, sending guests screaming from their rooms as smoke billowed from nearly every window.
At least two Americans were reported missing, and American authorities at the scene said they feared that some guests might be trapped inside the 11-story Regent of Manila hotel. Police were unable to determine the number of guests at the hotel or how many were unaccounted for in the fire, which started just after midnight.
