A crew entered the smoldering Wilberg Mine on Wednesday for the first time since rescuers were driven out by a fire that killed 27 persons, a company spokesman said.

The operation, the first step toward recovering two remaining bodies, began as the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration made plans to resume next Monday its closed inquiry into the Dec. 19 tragedy at the mine, which had remained sealed in an effort to control the fire.
