CBS filed a lawsuit against Fairness in Media Inc.

CBS asked a federal judge to prevent the North Carolina-based group of conservatives from obtaining a list of its stockholders unless they promise not to use the list for “improper purposes.” CBS said it has reason to believe that, because of the political nature of the campaign mounted against it and the political interests of the group supporting the campaign, its shareholder list may be used for “improper purposes.”
