Retired Officer Kills Family, Self

CREVE COEUR, Mo. —
A police sergeant said to be depressed over his forced retirement today shot to death his wife and two teen-age children as they slept in their beds and then killed himself with a shotgun blast.
St. Louis County police said the officer, Virgil Twillman, 53, killed his wife, Patricia; son, Scott, 18, and daughter, Dawn, 15, while they slept.
