Share

Ira L. Steiner, a talent agent who helped found Ashley-Steiner Famous Artists agency, a forerunner of today’s giant International Creative Management company, has died at his Brentwood home.

Steiner, who was 70 when he died Feb. 8 after what was described only as a long illness, represented many big bands in the 1930s, among them those of Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Harry James and Woody Herman.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and son, Jonathan.
