An agreement granting 260 blue-collar workers a 3% salary increase has been unanimously approved by the high school district trustees and returned to the employees’ union for ratification by Feb. 25.

The agreement, hammered out in bargaining sessions between the Huntington Beach Union High School District and the California State Employees Assn., had been recommended by the district superintendent.

The board also granted a similar salary increase for the district’s management. Trustee Ronald Marcus abstained, citing his wife’s inclusion in that group. Sheila Marcus serves as the district’s coordinator of alternative education.
