Robbers Strike 2 Costa Mesa Businesses
Police are searching for two daytime bandits, each of whom held up a Costa Mesa business for a small amount of money Monday after brandishing a handgun and threatening employees.
The first robbery occurred about 10 a.m. at the California 6 Motel on Gisler Avenue. A man described as about 5 feet 9 and 160 pounds, with sandy blond hair, escaped with about $100 in receipts from the motel, Police Lt. Jack Calnon said.
No other details were available, but an investigation is continuing.
At 2:45 in the afternoon, the Fotomat store at 2200 Harbor Blvd. was held up, Calnon said. Police are looking for man about 5 feet 7 and 140 pounds, who was last seen running from the store. He threatened a woman clerk with a small handgun and took $65, Calnon said.
