The Region : Crane Accident Kills Man
A 41-year-old Ojai man died of injuries suffered when he was run over by a 45-ton crane. Marris Earl Crow died at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from massive injuries, said Sgt. Emilio Paerels of the Torrance Police Department. The mobile crane was being used at a storm-drain project near Torrance Beach. It was being driven down a steep ramp to the beach, when it apparently lost its brakes and went out of control, Paerels said.
