Stephen H. Fitzpatrick has been appointed president of Covington Homes/Orange County, a newly formed division of the publicly held real estate development firm, Covington Technologies. Loran D. Covington, chairman of the board of the Fullerton-based parent company said Fitzpatrick “has been a valued member of the Covington management team for many years and has contributed tremendously to the growth of the company.”

Leland Oliver, president of Leland Oliver Co. Inc. has been appointed general chairman of the 1985 Economic Outlook Conference to be held Nov. 7 at the Anaheim Hilton. The conference, now in its 23rd year, has won national acclaim as the outstanding economic outlook conference of its kind in the nation.

AirCal Inc. of Newport Beach announced the promotion of Dennis J. Hogan to assistant treasurer. Hogan previously served as manager of financial analysis, budgets and controls, and manager of treasury.

Wayne Jonas, formerly an executive with with Orange City Bank, has joined Citizens Bank of Costa Mesa as vice president and manager of Citizen’s Seventeenth Street branch in Costa Mesa. Citizens’ President Paige Simpson also announced Tuesday that Michael H. Mullarky has been promoted to senior vice president and manager of the main office on Harbor Boulevard. Mullarky had been vice president and commercial loan officer.

New City Bank of Orange announced the appointments of Chester K. Britt and Jose S. Ocampo Jr. as senior vice presidents. Britt will supervise loan administration and Ocampo is the bank’s cashier and chief financial officer.

Walter Alessandrini is the new president of Gryphon Products, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermo Systems Inc. of Orange. The Hayward-based Gryphon designs, manufactures and markets cassette-to-cassette sputtering systems for use in the manufacture of semiconductor wafers.

Alessandrini joins Gryphon Products after an 11-year association with Varian Associates, where his responsibilities included European sales and marketing, while based in Italy.
