Westwood Killer Ruled Sane
Daniel Lee Young, convicted of murdering a New York tourist and injuring scores of others when he drove his car down a Westwood sidewalk during the 1984 Olympics, was declared legally sane by a jury in Santa Monica today.
Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Weiss now could sentence Young to life in prison. Young, 21, was convicted Feb. 8 on one count of murder and 48 counts of attempted murder. He had pleaded innocent and innocent by reason of insanity.
