USC, UCLA Baseball Teams Open Conference Play With 3-Game Series

The USC and UCLA baseball teams will begin Pacific 10 Southern Division play at 2 p.m. today at Jackie Robinson Stadium in the opener of a three-game series.
USC leads the series that started in 1928, 174-55. The Trojans, who won all six games last season en route to a second-place finish behind Arizona State, have beaten the Bruins eight straight times. They have also won their last seven games at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
USC is 7-4 in nonconference play but has lost three of its last four games. UCLA is 9-4 and has won seven straight.
The second game of the series will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dedeaux Field, the third at 1 p.m. Sunday at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
