Europeans Choose U. S. for Vacations

WASHINGTON — The United States was rated as the first vacation choice by British, West German and French citizens planning to fly outside Europe this year, according to a recent Gallup Poll commissioned by the Commerce Department.
The poll found that the British most often listed the Grand Canyon and the Rocky Mountains as the places they wanted to visit. The Germans listed Hawaiii, New York and Florida as their favorite states. The French said they wanted to visit California, Florida, New Orleans and New York.
