Arizona State, still searching for a successor to head football Coach Darryl Rogers, has been turned down for the second time by both Brigham Young’s LaVell Edwards and UCLA’s Terry Donahue.

School sources said Wednesday that Arizona State Athletic Director Dick Tamburo contacted Edwards and Donahue about the job again Tuesday, but both refused it.

Arizona State lost Rogers to the National Football League’s Detroit Lions on Feb. 6. Tamburo said he has no timetable for selecting a new coach. Among those reportedly still in the running is Cal State Fullerton’s Gene Murphy.
