Five women will be honored at the Santa Monica YWCA Bay Area Women of the Year awards dinner at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the Bayview Plaza Holiday Inn.
Among the honorees are Florence Cardine, psychologist, businesswoman and president of the Santa Monica College Patrons Assn., and Jimmie Lee Rapley, who retired recently after serving 29 years as a teacher at John Adams Junior High School.
Also, Johanne Hanser, a volunteer for Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center and the Westside Independent Services for the Elderly; Elaine Locksley, president and chief executive of Vikings Savings & Loan, and Dr. Jane Murray of the family practice residency program at Santa Monica Hospital Medical center.
