Ex-Nebraska Official Sentenced for Perjury

LINCOLN, Neb. —
A judge Friday sentenced former state Atty. Gen. Paul Douglas to three years of probation for perjury and ordered him to perform 1,500 hours of volunteer work and pay a $25,000 fine.
Lancaster County District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront sentenced Douglas, 57, who was convicted Dec. 14 on a charge that he lied about his business dealings before a special legislative committee investigating the collapse of an industrial loan and investment company.
