Cairo to Experiment With 2-Day Weekend
From Reuters
CAIRO —
Most Egyptian government ministries have been told to introduce a two-day weekend beginning next Saturday in a bid to unclog Cairo’s traffic jams.
Friday, the Muslim holy day, has generally been the only day off for more than half a million civil servants.
Now, staff members in eight ministries will take Thursday and Friday off, and staff members in 12 others will take Friday and Saturday. All will continue to work a 36-hour week.
