An international service bureau for Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese customers is being set up by the Southern California Gas Co. to give non-English-speaking customers a way to communicate with company representatives. The service bureau, to begin later this year, will be staffed by phone operators who speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Korean, all reachable by a toll-free number. The phone service will also be available to field representatives who have difficulty communicating with clients on service calls.
