R.J. Reynolds paced a six-hit attack that gave the Dodgers a 4-1 victory Saturday over the Houston Astros in exhibition baseball.

Reynolds drove in two runs with a double in the first inning. The Dodgers scored another run in the third and then got one in the fourth on Terry Whitfield’s homer.

The Astros’ run came in the fourth inning on Wes Clements’ sacrifice fly, scoring Jose Cruz.

Orel Hershiser picked up his first spring win for the Dodgers against one loss. The Astros’ Nolan Ryan allowed six walks and took the loss.

The Dodgers improved to their exhibition record to 4-3, while the Astros dropped their sixth straight home game and fell to 3-7.

Dodger first baseman Greg Brock huddled with Ted Williams, the former Boston Red Sox slugger, Saturday. The subject, naturally, was hitting. Brock, who also received advice from Williams last spring, met with him again at the suggestion of Lou Gorman, Red Sox vice president for baseball operations.
