Police officers summoned to Los Angeles City Councilman Gilbert Lindsay’s field office arrested an alleged burglar who tried to walk off with three frozen turkeys. Sgt. Samuel Hunter said a silent alarm was triggered at the office at 4264 S. Central Ave. When officers arrived, they found a man walking out of the building carrying the turkeys. A call to the councilman’s home determined that no one had permission to be in the building nor to remove turkeys kept in an office freezer as part of an emergency food supply for the needy, Hunter said. Phillip Henderson, 37, of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of burglary. The turkeys were returned to the office freezer.
