Jewelry Valued at $30,000 Stolen From Apartment
An estimated $30,000 in gold and diamond jewelry was reported stolen from a Santa Ana Heights apartment, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Tuesday.
Lt. Dick Olson said the thief, who took necklaces, rings, bracelets and a Cartier watch sometime between 1 and 6 p.m. Monday, apparently entered through an unlocked first-floor bedroom window.
The jewelry belonged to a 28-year-old Belgian woman, who was staying at her brother’s apartment and who bought the jewelry on her vacation, Olson said.
He said the pair had returned from an afternoon of shopping and discovered the window ajar and the woman’s jewelry case empty on the floor.
