Marine Slain in Barracks at El Toro
A 21-year-old Marine was “apparently stabbed to death in his barracks” at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, a spokesman said Thursday.
The body of Kevin A. Berrigan, a private first class from Wells City, Me., was discovered about 11 p.m. by another Marine, according to Sgt. Pepper Davis of the base’s public affairs office.
The Naval Investigative Service, which investigates major crimes for the Navy and Marine Corps, is investigating Berrigan’s death, Davis said.
Berrigan, who enlisted February, 1983, was assigned to the headquarters squadron office.
