Anthony Hopkins stars as a criminal attorney who plots the murder of his wife in "Guilty Conscience," a TV movie set to air April 2 on CBS. Blythe Danner co-stars as the wife and Swoosie Kurtz portrays his mistress.

NBC has set an April 7 air date for "Florence Nightingale," a three-hour movie starring Jaclyn Smith as the famous nurse. The film was shot on location in England and co-stars Timothy Dalton, Claire Bloom and Jeremy Brett.

Brian Blessed will play Long John Silver in "Return to Treasure Island," a 10-hour miniseries that is being produced for the Disney Channel. The project is a sequel to the Disney film "Treasure Island," based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, and will take up the adventures of Silver and Jim Hawkins 10 years after the earlier story.

Bill Cosby will host a three-hour special for NBC celebrating the reopening of New York City's renowned Apollo Theater. The show, due to air in May, is being produced by Motown Productions and will use a concert-and-interview format similar to its Emmy Award-winning special, "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever."

Two Academy Award nominees, Sam Waterston of "The Killing Fields" and Christine Lahti of "Swing Shift," play a married couple in "Love Lives On," a TV movie airing April 1 on ABC. They portray the parents of a teen-age girl with cancer who gets pregnant and must decide between her life and the baby's.

Bill Johnson, one of the U.S. heroes at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo last year, will be the subject of a TV movie for CBS. Johnson, the first American ever to win an Olympic gold medal in alpine skiing, will be played by Anthony Edwards. The film is being shot in Yugoslavia.

Orange County will be the subject of an upcoming report on "KCET Journal." Channel 28's documentary series plans to look at the booming area and contrast life there with life in nearby Los Angeles County. The program is tentatively scheduled to air in May.

Sam Wanamaker and Nick Mancuso are starring in a movie for ABC entitled "Embassy," about the various activities that officials at the U.S. Embassy in Rome are involved in. Wanamaker is the ambassador and Mancuso is his deputy. Others in the cast are Eli Wallach, Mimi Rogers, Blanche Baker and Richard Masur.

When an upcoming script on "Ryan's Hope" calls for Johnny Mathis to sing an original song, the singer will be none other than Mathis himself. He'll make two appearances on the ABC daytime serial, April 9 and May 9, singing "Right From the Heart."

Las Vegas is the background for "Stark,"a CBS movie on April 10 with Nicolas Surovyas as a Kansas detective who goes west to investigate when his sister disappears. Marilu Henner, Pat Corley, Seth Jaffe, Arthur Rosenberg and Dennis Hopper are also involved.
