A former military intelligence chief and two aides will be indicted next week in connection with the murder of a Chinese-American journalist whose writings were critical of Taiwan’s government, the Defense Ministry said Monday.

A Defense Ministry spokesman told newsmen that military prosecutors have evidence linking the three to the murder of Henry Liu, 52, who was shot to death in the garage of his home in Daly City on Oct. 15.

The three, who have been in military custody since Jan. 15, are Vice Adm. Wong Shi-ling, 57, who was dismissed as head of the Defense Ministry’s intelligence bureau; his deputy, Maj. Gen. Hu Yi-min, 50, and Col. Chen Hu-men, 47, a deputy section chief in the agency.
