A 31-year-old Briton who thought drinking lots of water was good for his health died by waterlogging his brain, lungs and stomach, a coroner’s inquest concluded today.

Pathologist John Paul said the brain tissues, lungs and stomach of Rod Cox, a former mental patient, contained “a severe amount of water.” Paul concluded that Cox, who once swallowed 13 half-pint glasses of water in a row, simply drank himself to death.
