A Thousand Oaks woman was arrested Thursday in connection with the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian who was struck by a car Monday as he was crossing a street in that city, authorities said.
Amanda Briers, 27, was taken into custody at her home after a three-day investigation into the death of Stephen Richmond, 38, of Moorpark, Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Harwell said.
Harwell said Richmond was crossing Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Crescent Way when he was struck by a car, which sped from the scene. Richmond was taken by ambulance to Westlake Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Briers was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and was released Monday night from Ventura County Jail after posting $5,000 bail, Harwell said.
