Put a Raft Trip on Summer Agenda

American President Lines has inaugurated two itineraries with passenger-carrying cargo-liners. Both are two-week voyages: one from Yokohama to Guam, Keelung, Busan and return; the other from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung, Singapore, Jakarta, and back to Singapore and Hong Kong. America’s Cup

The 1986-87 America’s Cup Regatta in Western Australia is a long time away, but the word is to book early for accommodations in Perth or Fremantle. Australia’s win of the cup in 1983 broke a 132-year winning streak for the U.S.A. team. Alaska Passage

The fiords and bays of southeast Alaska will be visited on natural history cruises aboard a custom-built 50-foot ship, the Delphinus, which carries up to 10 passengers and a crew of three that includes a naturalist guide. The group will explore the most remote waterways of the region, guided by Ron Storro-Patterson, marine biologist. The Delphinus carries skiffs that can be used to go ashore for hiking, beachcombing and wildlife viewing. The cruises depart June 30, July 9, July 20 and Aug. 1.
