Praise for Young Talents

I was so delighted with Gary Libman’s article about performing arts at the 32nd Street Magnet School (“Performing Up to Their Potential,” March 28). These talented young students deserve all the praise and recognition we can give them for their achievements in the arts. I was disappointed, however, that the Community School of Performing Arts was not mentioned as one of the assets in the neighborhood of the school since so many of the pupils at the 32nd Street School are also Community School students, and, more specifically, since the performance by Elisabeth Powell of the Kuhlau sonatina mentioned in the article was possible because she learned it at her piano lesson with me at the Community School.
