One man sustained minor injuries Sunday night when his light plane made an emergency landing on California 23 in Thousand Oaks, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

Frank DeStefano landed his four-seat Piper Cherokee on the Tierra Rejada Road off-ramp of State 23, the spokeswoman said. DeStefano suffered a cut to his nose and was treated at the scene.

The spokeswoman said there was extensive damage to the plane and it could not be flown from the scene. She said Federal Aviation Administration officials would investigate the crash.
