Three teen-agers have been arrested on suspicion of breaking into 25 cars parked in an Anaheim neighborhood, police said Monday.
Police Sgt. Jack Jansen said an unidentified resident telephoned authorities shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday and reported seeing three people taking valuables from several cars parked in the 1800 block of W. Tedmar Avenue.
Kenneth Lee Janes, 18, of Torrance was arrested on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools, Jansen said. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bail Monday in the Anaheim City Jail.
Arrested and booked on similar charges were a 17-year-old Stanton youth, who was held in Orange County Juvenile Hall, and a 16-year-old Anaheim youth who was released to his parents, Jansen said.
An estimated $4,000 worth of stolen car stereo equipment, tools and personal items found at the scene was returned to the owners, authorities said.
