INDIANAPOLIS — A hockey player who had the tip of his nose bitten off during a fight in a game last month has filed a $100,000 damage suit in Superior Court.
Marc Magnan, 23, of the International Hockey League’s Indianapolis Checkers filed suit against Chris McSorley of the Toledo Goaldiggers. Also named in the suit were the IHL and J.F. Sports Ltd., the parent organization of the Toledo team.
Gerald Francis, general manager of the Goaldiggers, declined to comment about the suit. Michael Meyers, information director for the IHL, said McSorley was suspended by the league for the remainder of the season.
“This incident (March 8) was not the sole factor in his suspension,” Meyers said. He would not comment about the lawsuit.
