Navy to Upgrade Three Hangers at North Island

A $5.6-million upgrading of the fire protection and electrical systems has been announced for three hangars totaling 340,000 square feet in which F-18 jet fighters are rebuilt for the Pacific Fleet at the Naval Air Rework Facility, North Island, San Diego,
Malcolm Lewis Associates/Engineers Inc., Irvine, has been named to design the project, with civil and structural engineering by Cash & Associates Engineers, Long Beach, and assistance in the design of the fire protection system by Gage-Babcock, Long Beach.
