Petranoff Throws Javelin 287-0 in Meet at UCLA

Tom Petranoff threw the javelin 287 feet, the best mark in the country this season, to highlight an all-comers track meet of current and past UCLA competitors and invited track clubs at Drake Stadium Saturday.
Andre Phillips won the 110-meter high hurdles in 13.45 seconds, and Brian Stanton and Lee Balkins both cleared 7 feet 5 inches in the high jump, with Stanton getting the win on fewer misses. Greg McSeveney won the discus with a toss of 210-9.
