PacTel’s cellular phones ringing in 23,000 cars.

Although less than a year old, Costa Mesa-based PacTel Mobile Access said its Southern California network is the nation’s largest cellular system. The network extends across most of Los Angeles and Orange counties, the western portions of Riverside and San Bernardino counties and offshore from Malibu to San Clemente.
