Pilot in Fatal Crash Had Just Been Licensed
Two men killed in a light plane that crashed Sunday night above La Crescenta were a Glendale flier who had had his license less than a week and his brother, authorities said Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified them as Robert Potter, 31, the pilot, and Scott Potter, 25, also of Glendale. A National Transportation Safety Board investigator said Robert Potter’s license was issued April 15.
The two died when their rented Cessna 152 crashed at the base of Tujunga Mountain near Gold Creek Road in dense fog. Searchers were not able to reach the wreckage until Monday morning.
