Proper Name of College

Share

On April 9, religion writer John Dart made a seemingly minor mistake. In referring to the name change of Los Angeles Baptist College, Mr. Dart reported the new name of the college to be “Master’s College.” This is almost correct.

The correct name should be “The Master’s College.” The article “the” signifies that we as an educational institution are identified with Jesus Christ, who is often referred to as the Master. Without the article “the,” our school name would seem to refer to an institution that is exclusively engaged in graduate-school studies. Though in the future we may desire to add such programs, the school does not presently engage in graduate studies.

Thank you for noting the aforesaid correction and communicating the error to the community.
