Showboats Beat Gold, Even Record at 5-5

DENVER —
Ex-Denver running back Harry Sydney ran 12 yards up the middle for a fourth-quarter touchdown and quarterback Mike Kelley ran 18 yards for another score, lifting the Memphis Showboats to a 33-17 United States Football League win over the Denver Gold Friday night.
Memphis evened its record at 5-5 while Denver dropped out of a share of the Western Conference lead at 6-4.
Denver continued to experience attendance woes as a crowd of 8,207 watched the game.
