Lance Renault of Diamond Bar, director of administration for Compassion International in Colorado, has been elected president of Christian Ministries Management Assn., a professional management group for Christian organizations in Diamond Bar. Renault succeeds Patrick Robertson of Cityteam Ministries in San Jose.

Ralph Stone of San Dimas has been named Southern California Rapid Transit District operator of the year. Stone was chosen from the RTD’s 4,700 full-time bus operators. He has driven for the RTD for 28 years. Stone drives on Line 291 serving the communities of Pomona and Claremont.

Colleen Baron of Temple City has been awarded a Jacobo Patlan Memorial Scholarship of $500 from Cal State Los Angeles. The award was established in honor of Patlan, a Cal State L.A. biochemistry student who died in an automobile accident in 1980. The scholarship is for students who plan to dedicate their careers to improving health care in the Latino community.

Terry P. Fitzgerald, an attorney and member of the Claremont City Council, has been appointed to the countywide Citizens Planning Council by Supervisor Pete Schabarum. The council advises the Regional Planning Commission on implementation of the county general plan.

Beverly DeVilbiss has been named to the board of directors for the McKinley Home for Boys in San Dimas. DeVilbiss is supervisor of training and special services for the Southern California Edison Co.’s engineering and construction department in Rosemead.

Harold Schleifer of Claremont has been appointed director of the University Library at Cal Poly Pomona. Schleifer was formerly acting director of the library.
