San Diego
Seven people were hospitalized with minor back, neck and leg injuries when a San Diego Transit bus ran a red light and collided with two vehicles at Pacific Highway and Palm Avenue on Wednesday, police said.
According to Police Officer Victor Morel, the bus driver, Isiah Andrews, 48, was traveling north on Pacific Highway and was going too fast to stop for the red light. The bus hit a car and a van broadside as they were turning left onto Palm Avenue. The driver of the car and six passengers on the bus, including an 18-year-old pregnant woman, received minor injuries and were treated at UC San Diego Medical Center and Mercy Hospital and released.
Andrews was cited for his failure to stop, Morel said. A San Diego Transit spokesman said the company will investigate the collision.
