San Diego Roundup : SDSU’s Red-Black Alumni Game to Be Played Saturday

The San Diego State football team will conclude spring practice with its annual Red-Black alumni game at 7 p.m. Saturday in Aztec Bowl.

The Aztecs feature quarterback Todd Santos, who passed for 2,063 yards last season as a freshman. Mike Stevens, an all-Western Athletic Conference defensive tackle, will be withheld because of shoulder problems.

The Rolf Benirschke celebrity round-robin tennis tournament, which benefits the American Cancer Society, will take place Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Tennis Escondido.

Among the celebrities scheduled to participate are Police Chief Bill Kolender and Socker Owner Bob Bell.

Female drivers will join the pro, bomber and super stock car racers at 7:30 Saturday night at Cajon Speedway.

Mike Hagerman and Mark Norris have won the first two super stock feature races of the season. Mike Carver and Jerry Gay have been winners in the pro stock division.

The Professional Surfing Assn. of America will have competition Saturday at the northern end of San Onofre State Beach.
