University of Oklahoma basketball star Wayman Tisdale said Saturday that he will forgo his senior year of eligibility and make himself available in the National Basketball Assn. draft June 18.

Tisdale said he made the decision within the past couple of days.

“The fans made it really hard,” he said. “I love it here and I’ve had a great time. . . . I just had to look at what would make me happiest. That was the most important thing.”

During the final games of last season, fans chanted, “One More Year” at Tisdale, and billboards proclaiming the same sentiment appeared in at least three locations in Oklahoma City and Norman.
