Inmate Wants Privacy, So He Hangs Cellmate

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. —
An inmate who “just wanted a cell to himself,” hanged his cellmate with bedsheets and set him afire, the county sheriff said Wednesday.
Billy Fagans, 19, of Kingsport, apparently died from the hanging, Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Gardner said. Fagans was awaiting trial on sexual battery charges, Gardner said.
Willie C. Puckett, 23, of Kingsport, was arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder.
