Joyner Leaps 21-11

UCLA’s Jackie Joyner set a meet record of 21-11 in the long jump Friday during the first day of the Western Collegiate Athletic Assn. track meet at UCLA. The meet will conclude today, with the heptathlon beginning at 9 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m. Arizona leads UCLA, 39-37.

Joyner also finished fourth in the javelin, sixth in the shotput and qualified for the finals in the 100 meters and 400-meter hurdles. Her time of 56.74 in the hurdles is a school record.
