The Choice of Acosta for Commission
I was appalled and insulted reading in The Times (May 3) about Santa Ana City Councilman John Acosta’s choice of John Sepulveda for the city’s Housing Commission. I wholeheartedly disagree with Acosta when he blames tenants for Sepulveda’s responsibility for the dilapidated condition of his buildings. I don’t think Sepulveda has the best interest of the city at heart.
I agree with Councilman Wilson B. Hart’s statement that nominating Sepulveda would be “sort of putting a fox in charge of the henhouse.” There is an old saying in Spanish that says “tell me who you are with, and I’ll tell you who you are.” That certainly describes Councilman John Acosta and John Sepulveda.
