Local News In Brief : Reward Offered for School Arson Leads

The Los Angeles Board of Education has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the people who committed arson, vandalism and burglary at two San Fernando Valley schools earlier this week.

The first fire was set shortly after 12 a.m. May 12 at Sun Valley Junior High School and caused $80,000 in damage to classrooms and the cafeteria. A few hours later, a fire was set at Arminta Street Elementary School in North Hollywood. Damage to two bungalow classrooms was estimated at $70,000.
