One of four executives of a defunct silver recovery company was acquitted in Maywood, Ill., in the cyanide-poisoning death of a Polish immigrant worker in the nation’s first corporate murder trial stemming from a workplace fatality. Judge Ronald J.P. Banks approved an acquittal motion for Gerald Pett, vice president and plant manager of Film Recovery Systems Inc., but denied similar motions on behalf of the other three executives also charged with murder and reckless conduct.
