The Region : 500 Pounds of Cocaine Seized; 19 Held

More than 500 pounds of cocaine that could be worth as much as $140 million has been seized in raids by Pasadena and Los Angeles police officers as well as federal drug agents over the last 30 days, authorities said. Nineteen suspects, most of them South American nationals, were booked into Pasadena City Jail for investigation of narcotics sales in the aftermath of the raids in Pasadena and Arcadia. Authorities declined to disclose details of the operation pending a final series of arrests.
