Hacienda Heights

A teen mother program that builds student confidence and encourages further education brought special honors to the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District when awards were given this week by the Los Angeles County superintendent of schools office. The third annual Exemplary Programs Awards competition also gave recognition to an attendance improvement program in the Rowland Unified School District and a program of media communications for students in the Claremont Unified School District. They were among 16 county school programs that were judged as most outstanding from a field of 200 candidates.
