The Lindbergh Park neighborhood is holding a block party on Saturday to thank the state Department of Transportation for completing a sound wall on the Santa Monica Freeway.
The party will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the corner of Urban and Dorchester avenues. A dedication ceremony will be held at 3 p.m.
The neighborhood will present an award to Wilmer Bengtson, project development director for Caltrans. Mayor Christine E. Reed and Assemblyman Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica) are also expected to attend.
