The city is sponsoring a toxics roundup day June 1 to enable residents to rid their homes of unwanted household toxic chemicals such as pesticides, pool acids and paint products. The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot, 1685 Main St.

The program is available only to Santa Monica residents and small businesses. Only small quantities of toxic wastes from businesses will be accepted.

A professional waste handling company will identify and package chemicals brought in by the community and transport them to a hazardous-waste landfill.
