Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Lawrence Waddington ruled that hearings may be held on whether to revoke or suspend the 321 Club’s liquor license.
The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control had scheduled hearings before an administrative law judge after the city filed a formal accusation claiming that the club had repeatedly violated the terms of its liquor license.
The hearings were postponed in March by Superior Court Judge Jerry Pacht after a lawyer for the club, Victor Herman, argued that the city had not provided the club with the information it had requested. Waddington ruled this week that further legal discovery is not needed.
Waddington’s ruling means that the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control can now reschedule the hearings, according to David B. Wainstein, an attorney for the department.
The club, at 321 Santa Monica Blvd., is a popular night spot for teen-agers and young adults.
